Look To Jesus

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.”  -Hebrews 12:1–2, NLT

Jesus is called the “champion” and the one who “initiates and perfects our faith.”

That means your faith did not begin with you, and it will not be sustained by you. It began in Him, and it is completed by Him.

When you feel weary, look at Jesus.

When people disappoint you, look at Jesus.

When you are tempted to compare, look at Jesus.

When you feel unseen, misunderstood, or overlooked, look at Jesus.

He has already run the race before you. He has already endured what you are afraid of. He has already faced shame, hostility, misunderstanding, and abandonment, and He did not turn back. He stayed faithful all the way through.

And now He is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.

The one you are fixing your eyes on is not struggling to hold it together. He is not unsure of the outcome. He is not hoping this works out. He reigns, intercedes, and finishes what He starts.
